Provider and facility confirmation
These categories are a description aid, not an acceptance list. An approved provider and the intended receiving facility must confirm the material, preparation, current acceptance rules, operating constraints, and lawful destination before pickup is booked.

Sort material before pickup planning
FVRD guidance requires recyclable and compostable material to be sorted out of garbage and kept separate for appropriate processing or disposal. Describe separable material groups in the request instead of assuming everything can travel as mixed garbage.

- Suspected asbestos is not accepted through ordinary pickup planning. Do not disturb it; consult provincial guidance and an appropriately qualified specialist.
- Soil and fill are outside ordinary yard-debris planning. Confirm the City permit requirements and a lawful destination before arranging removal or deposit.
- Paint, solvents, fuel, chemicals, propane cylinders, batteries, sharps, biohazards, and unknown liquids or powders need a suitable handling route and must be disclosed before review.
- Items still connected to electrical, gas, or water service need safe disconnection before removal can be considered.
